Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a protected area in Uganda renowned for its biodiversity and stunning landscapes. Detailed Itinerary
Today you will be picked up around 7:00 AM from Entebbe by our guide who will brief you about your after a short safari briefing the guide will drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the South-West through the beautiful landscapes and plantations of central uganda which will take around 9 hours of a breathtaking scenic drive. Lunch will be provided en-route at Mbarara.
Dinner and overnight in a lodge or camp.
The highlight of the Great Apes Safari starts when you wake early (06:00), have your breakfast, and be at the trailhead in time for the gorilla trekking briefing in the Southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Your guide will make sure that you have packed lunch and mineral drinking water. You will be briefed on the does and don’t while tracking Gorillas and then start the activity at 0800 hours.When you spot the Great Apes, you will be able to spend an hour with them. Your time in the forest cannot be pre-determined as every day is different from that previous, after this enticing experience you will be transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
The drive will be in the beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ because of its unique cool weather despite being near the Equator. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda and the second deepest lake in Africa (900 meters deep) and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzia free.
Note : Depending on your time of arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, you can pay the extra amount for the activity (Community Walk, Canoe Ride, Boat Ride, Bicycle Ride, Bird Watching, Cray Fishing or a visit to the batwa community.) directly at the accommodation and do the activity on this day or on the next day before departing back to Entebbe.
After an early breakfast, you will enjoy the last moments of the misty lake before driving back to Entebbe with a brief stop at the equator for lunch and for pictures in the northern and southern hemisphere. Drop off at a city hotel or Entebbe international Airport.
